- Lot Description
French, circa first quarter 18th century. A very fine Regence walnut commode having a reverse oxbow shaped top over a conforming case with three drawers, each mounted with polished gilt bronze handles and escutcheons, the sides and angles paneled, raised on squat cabriole legs with scrolled toes. Approximate height 37.62", width 46.75", depth 26.25".
Condition
Structurally sound. Top with staining, warping, shrinkage, scratches and a horizontal crack. Prior worming present to interior and drawers. Locking mechanisms removed. Drawers have had some restoration. Epoxy repair to lower right back stile. Filled vertical repair to left paneled side. Small piece of molding on one drawer missing; same drawer with some warping. Area with mold residue.
