An oak wood spool turned armchair and ottoman set, the chair comprising of large spool turned front and back stiles with joined slats, the back comprising of a double row of spool turned slats surmounting a conforming spool turned stay rail, with two thick spool turned side or arm rails, all surmounting a square seat with beige linen upholstered cushion tied to a caned seat, surmounting a thick spool turned seat rail over a double row of spool turned foot rails. Rectangular form ottoman comprising of a square seat rail decorated with central spool turning surmounted by a removable beige linen upholstered cushion, the seat rail resting on a double row of thick spool turned legs joined by a cylindrical stretcher with central spool-turned decoration. Verso of chair seat rail revealing the hand written word "Devanture" (meaning "frontage" in French) with additional written markings. Approximate height of chair 31", width 21", depth 20.5", top of front stiles to floor 29", seat to floor 16". Approximate height of ottoman 15.5", width 23.25", depth 17.5".
