French,fourth quarter of 19th century. Oak carved three tier dessert or server on casters, the rectangular top with lunette carved border over a pair of paneled carved drawers, the pulls formed of carved grapevines and grape leaves and flanked to each side by patera blocks above with two open shelves united by barley twist supports, raised on block feet and casters. Approximate height 41.12", width 43", depth 21". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Ann Jacob of Highlands, North Carolina.
Light wear to finish throughout, particularly on top sides. Top with two small holes at back corners. Top slightly concaved. Interior top edge of left drawer with wood loss. Right drawer with loss to dovetailed joint at left. Each drawer with shrinkage. Top of server with discolored rings from moisture. All surface shelves (including top) with small scattered dings with minor wood losses, surface scratches and abrasions and wear from use. Oxidation to metal on casters. Wood fill with different finish on middle shelf center. Server structurally stable.
