French, 19th Century. French Louis XIV style oak highback armchair with rectangular padded and upholstered back and downswept arms decorated with scrolling acanthus leaf and padded elbow rests over upholstered seat, the whole decorated with large brass nail heads, on square, foliate carved, tapering legs. Height 46", width 27" (arm to arm), seat depth 21", seat height 16'.
