- Lot Description
Paul Vernon (French, 1796-1875). "Plein Air Romantic Landscape", oil on canvas, signed lower left "Vernon". Painting depicts a small pond at sunset with a single figure in a long boat, surrounded by lush landscape with rolling hills in the background. Framed 24" x 31", unframed 15" x 21.5".
Condition
Painting with craquelure or alligatoring throughout. Minor scattered signs of in-painting or retouches, predominately upper left and scattered speckles, not particularly noticeable or distracting. Painting with no signs of rips, tears or holes. Oxidation to back of canvas and stretcher. Paint layer appears to be stable.
