A large and impressive rectangular dore bronze dresser box with five hand painted slightly convex porcelain panels depicting Romantic scenes in nature, the four side panels depicting castles or country homes set in lush landscapes, and the cover with an elaborate figural composition depicting a man and two women with sheep and lambs set beside a body of water with fountain decorated with putti. One inch long vertical scratch at lower center of top on sheep--no signs of lifting. Escutcheon missing part of metal mount and exposing raw enamel and metal circular hole. Light wear to interior with velvet lining commensurate with age. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
