French, 19th century. An oak breakfront display cabinet surmounted by an arched molded cornice over a conforming arched two door display cabinet with conforming arched window frame, the keyhole framed by brass foliate Rococo escutcheon, opening to light green painted interior with three shelves with scalloped edges. The upper case resting on ogee molded plinth on joined lower case with two adjacent astragal molded drawers with conforming brass keyholes surmounting two drawers with shaped molding opening to interior compartment with one board shelf above cyma curved apron, all raised on scroll feet. Approximate height 92", width 42.25", depth 20.5".
Wood losses throughout form. More significant losses on cornice (left of center), nail protruding at center of cornice. Scattered worming throughout form, however, not active. Glass fronts with scattered bubbling, some panes wavy, two panes with cracks. Interior of cabinet with later painted finish. Interior of cabinet throughout with separation and shrinkage. Hardware appears to be later. Locks later replaced. Wood split with losses at bottom edge of upper section at left. Lower interior shelf storage significantly bowed and with large losses to accommodate later locks. Lifting to wood at lower left above knee. Wood replaced at hinges (hinges also appear to be later). No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
