- Lot Description
Frederic Marlett Bell-Smith (American/Canadian, 1846-1923), "Eagle Peaks, Summit of the Selkirks, B.C."-1887, watercolor on paper laid down on artist board by the artist, signed and dated lower left "F.M. Bell-Smith", titled lower left below page. Watercolor painting depicting an expansive white jagged mountain with green conifer trees throughout. Framed approximately 18" x 21". Sight size approximately 9.5" x 12.6".
Condition
Examined out of the frame. Page laid down to artist board by artist with title inscribed below sheet at left. Light and even toning throughout commensurate with age, with slightly darker toning to edges outside of the matrix. Oxidation to verso of board. Paint layer stable. No apparent abrasions, losses, tears, or punctures.
