L. Dickinson and William Bosley after Robert Ranald McIan (Scottish, 1803-1856). Group of four likely first edition chromolithographs finished by hand from "Clans of the Scottish Highlands" originally published by William Bosley in 1845 and reissued in 1857 with text by James Logan (British, 1794-1872), each inscribed lower right "L. Dickinson, Lith" or "W. Bosely, Lith", lower left "R.R McIan, Pinxit", lower center with title, and below title "London. Published by WIlliam Bosley, 322 Regent St. C.Graf Lith. to Her Majesty". Group comprising of three prints by L. Dickinson, "Forbes" displays a gentleman in green, white and red Scottish kilt, knee socks and coat, adorned with sword on figures right hip and holding hat with peacock feathers in left hand, wearing a powdered wig; "Ogilvie" adorned in matching Scottish tartan cape and stockings with tan patterned overcoat and white blouse, left hand pointing to sword hanging from right hip; "Graham" standing in naturalistic landscape wearing green and blue Scottish kilt with white and black feathers hanging from center of kilt, green beret on top of figures head, arms crossed and eyes closed; and one print by William Bosley, "Menzies" depicting a male standing in a naturalistic landscape surveying the land, dressed in red and white kilt with feathers adorned on front, wearing brown jacket and yellow vest with feathered hat, right hand holding sword. Framed approximately 21" x 17". Sheet size approximately 14.375" x 10.125".
