Felix Alarcon (Spanish, 19th century). "Marcy", oil on wood board, signed lower lower left. Impressionist painting depicting a young woman at center dressed in blue skirt under hip length coat with ruffled collar and wearing a fashionable hat with yellow and blue adornment to top, the figure walking down an urban street just before a storm holding an umbrella in left hand, the background with impressions through fog of horse drawn carriages beside architecture and trees. Gallery label to verso of board "Knoke Galleries of Atlanta, 5325 Roswell Road, Atlanta, Georgia", above remnant of paper label and several red wax collector's seal fragments. Framed approximately 18.25" x 14.25". Unframed approximately 13" x 9.125".
Oxidation to verso of board commensurate with age. Under black light examination, inpainting along lower edge in repair of frame rubbing. Frame rubbing along top edge with inpainting to top of tall domed architecture at center. One tiny abrasion to left of figure's head with paint loss, not distracting. Painting in later gilt wood and gesso frame, circa 1960s, with some loss to gilt, some cracking commensurate with age, and no apparent repairs.
