Russian, 20th century. Faberge style guilloche enamel and diamond letter opener or knife with figural horse head at top with gilt mane and trappings, cabochon eyes above leaf tip banding above cylindrical handle with blue guilloche enamel ground below "M" filled with small diamonds, additional diamonds on border and drop bell flowers on clear glass blade. Three impressed stamp marks on borer above guilloche element with "84", Faberge in Cyrillic and "ER". Length approximately 7.75". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
There is oxidation and wear to gilt metal. There is one diamond loss to the letter "M". There is enamel loss to the blue guilloche (see image #6). Minor scratches on the glass blade.
