Faberge (Late 19th/Early 20th century). Michael Evlampievitch Perchin (Faberge workmaster from 1860-1903), pair of very fine Russian 14k rose gold, guilloche enamel, and diamond men's cufflinks. Each exquisite cufflink of rounded oval form with purple guilloche enamel behind crowned two-headed Russian eagle (state heraldic symbol) jeweled crown within bezel accented with diamonds. Cufflinks with almond shaped guilloche enamel closure. Marked on back with Perchin maker's mark in Cyrillic MP and 56 zolotnik gold standard or assay mark. Total weight approximately 17.9". Note: Michael Perchin is one of Faberge's most famous and skilled workmasters. Perchin was a senior workmaster for Faberge and worked for them under exclusive contract, therefore, the cufflinks featured in this lot can be represented as Faberge. Alternate spellings of Michael Perchin include: Michel Perchin, Mikhail Perchin and Mikhail Perkhin.Pair of finely crafted Michael Perchin men's diamond and guilloche enamel cufflinks, marked with workmaster's symbol and 56 zolotniks Russian Imperial gold standard assay mark.
Each cufflink with light surface scratches from wear. Wear to enamel including minor losses on edges and one almond shaped toggle closure with a hairline crack visible under loupe. All diamonds appear to be present, however, we are uncertain if any are later replacements. Some minor dings to edges and separation of form from wear, age and handling.
