- Lot Description
English, 19th century. Vertically-aligned hand embroidered silk textile panel with figural scene depicting a young mother in a pale yellow and white dress with hat and her little girl wearing dress in similar color palette, small black and white dog tugging on dress in playful manner, in an outdoor setting with trees and plants amid brown expanse, view of cottage at back left under blue sky. Framed approximately 11.125" x 8.25". Provenance: From the Estate of Dr. Woody and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
Condition
Examined out of the frame. Silk secured to a period wood board. Some water intrusion to edges causing bleeding of painted decoration. No apparent thread losses. In period frame.
