- Lot Description
English, Late 18th/Early 19th century. Creamware reticulated oblong basket with scrolled foliate handles at ends above heart, dot, diamond patterned pierced banding at top, gadrooned oblong foot on a creamware oval underplate with similar pierced motif. Both unmarked. Basket approximate height 4.5", width 10.2", depth 5.75". Underplate approximately 7.9" x 10.6".
Condition
Under plate with slight wear to bottom commensurate with age, two small glazing cracks running down pierced diamonds on border. Basket with craquelure to glaze and with some small losses to glazing on bottom. Small repair to top middle of one scrolled handle. One area on foot missing glaze with darker matte texture and finish. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
