English, circa 1775. English Chippendale mahogany bachelor's chest of drawers with cross banded and thumb molded top over a pull out slide and four graduated drawers, each beaded with individual locking mechanisms and bail handles, raised on bracket feet. Approximate height 32.75", width 33", depth 21.5". Provenance: From the Estate of Henry G. Muecke Jr., Atlanta, Georgia.
Some fading with scratches to top. Veneered molding is loose on front case both sides, flanking the drawers (see image #3). There is missing veneer on the left side front (see image #1). Some losses to beading on drawers. All locking mechanisms are present however they appear to not be original to piece. Bail handles have been replaced.
