• Lot Description
  British, circa 1885. A British naval sailor's wool work (woolwork, woolie) depicting a central round vignette or medallion scene depicting a marine scene with multi-masted ship at sea with puffed sails, with flag to mast (likely Red Ensign), central medallion scene surrounded by braided wool border further flanked on each side by four flags (with eight total flags), including flags of United Kingdom, France, Turkey, White Ensign, United States of America, Germany, Brazil and Blue Ensign, central medallion crested by crown, crown flanked on either side by a single-stem flower (likely rose and tulip). Framed overall approximately 21.125" x 20.6". Sight approximately 16" x 15.6".
