Elkington & Company (English, 1830s-1963), circa 1920. A sterling silver cased carriage clock with original leather bound box or case, the clock of typical but streamlined rectangular form raised on four bun feet with allover etched diamond patterning and folding shaped handle to top, the round white enamel face with black Roman Numerals and black pear shaped hands for minute and hour. Accompanied with apparently original leather bound travel case with hinged lid, the leather with allover diaper patterning complimentary to the clock itself. Clock face marked "C" beneath two crossed scrolls and under four stars. Brass movement with impressed "MADE IN FRANCE". Silver case marked to underside and interior rim of door with .925 standard lion rampant mark, date mark for 1920, city mark for London, and maker's mark for Elkington & Co. Clock approximate height (with handle folded down) 4.625", width 3.125", depth 2.25".
Clock has 8 day movement with no striking. Runs smoothly. Key is present. Dial shows a couple small hairline fractures (see image #6). Small blemish to backside of silver case lower right (see image #3). Leather bound case shows wear.
