• Lot Description
  Chinese, likely 14th century Ming Dynasty. A deep green celadon glazed double fish bowl, likely Longquan, having twin fish incised to center, wide flat rim, and carved lotus flower petals to exterior cavetto radiating up from a short round carved foot with exposed steel-grey biscuit.. Allover with clear olive green glaze thinned at the rim edges and around the tondo. Apparently unmarked. Accompanied with a 1988 appraisal by Dr. William S. Sorsby. Approximate diameter 8.75", height 2". Provenance: Dayak Benuaq Tribe (Mahakam River),Samarinda, East Kalimantan (Borneo); July 1987, acquired by present owner from Kardinal (antique dealer), Jakarta, Indonesia.
