French, late 19th/ early 20th century. A bronze and black marble oil parlor lamp with cranberry opalescent swirl uplight glass shade with ruffled and scalloped rim and cranberry opalescent ribbed glass font, the body with brass base raised on four fluted feet separated by large c-scrolls with acanthus leaf details, the turned shaft in black marble with white veining surmounting bronze acanthus leaf cup support and issuing acanthus leaf tip capital. With Matador burner by Ehrich & Graetz.(German, 1866-1961). Overall approximate height 24.5", diameter of glass font 6.75".
Overall very good condition. Wick lowers and rises easily. Uplight with rough edge at fitter base commensurate with age and contact. Metal prong missing to hold shade (three present). Metal also has oxidation. Scratches to the glass reservoir bowl, not distracting. Oxidation with minor finish loss to bronze base (see image #2).
