R & J Beck (English/ London, 1843-?). A monocular microscope, ca. 1920's, Model 22, serial # 3650, with brass body and black-enameled cast-iron base. Marked to both sides of eyepiece with Beck logo, model number, and marked to one side beneath logo with serial number. Microscope approximately 14.25" tall when fully extended. Microscope accompanied by original travel case of polished walnut with dovetailed corners and brass hardware. Box approximately 13.25" tall, 6.5" wide, 8.25" deep.
In good working condition. The arm of the stand is slightly loose. There are scratches to the black cast iron base commensurate with age and usage. The wood case has black marker or ink mark to the side (see image 1). Wood with felt covered piece to the interior of case is off, easily repaired with wood glue.
