Dutch, late 19th century. A fine Rococo style walnut and seaweed or endive marquetry inlaid lowboy, with serpentine molded top veneered and centered with a cartouche containing elaborate foliate scrollwork within a marquetry inlaid band above a conforming case fitted with two drawers, flanked to each side by a door opening to a small storage compartment, all decorated with herringbone and seaweed marquetry over a deep scrolled apron similarly decorated and raised on diaper carved cabriole legs terminating on scrolled carved feet. Approximate height, 30", width 29.75", depth 19".
Structurally sound. Small moisture ring stain to top left with scattered stains (see image #4 and #5). Some areas of veneer loss to top and horizontal crack (see image #5). The drawer pulls are not original and one drawer pull is missing the decorative rosette backplate. Runners replaced in drawers. Block missing to interior drawer. Slight lifting to veneer with minor loss one apron.
