Dutch, Late 19th century. Ebonized wood open armchair with incised upturned ears above blocks flanking bone and ebony stripe inlaid borders on rectangular back with marquetry inlaid scrolled foliates and floral spray in various woods, arms scrolled with acanthus leaf tips, seats with similar urn and floral arrangement motif inlaid into square seat, front legs barley twist, back straight block legs, all joined with I form stretcher. Overall approximate height 36.25", width 24.25", depth 21.2", seat to floor 17.4".
Structurally sound and overall very good condition. Missing bone segment on the top and bottom of back rail, front seat and left side seat rail. Marquetry is in good condition with very minimal loss. There is lifting and peeling of finish to the underside of the seat. Small scattered chips, nicks and scratches commensurate with age and usage.
