Dusty Griffith (American (Georgia/ Alabama), contemporary). "My Way Until I Saw You", mixed media and encaustic on plexiglas and wood panel, signed and titled to verso of wood panel. Mixed media constructed panel with squared plexiglas sheets coated in orange, pink, and yellow tonal encaustic, the colors reminiscent of a Summer sunset, with the plexiglas sheets mounted to a wooden panel in a geometric pattern which resembles the Neoplasticist master works of Piet Mondrian (Dutch, 1872-1944). Overall approximately 42" x 36". Provenance: Purchased from Pryor Fine Art, Atlanta, Georgia.
Painting inherently distressed to surface with abrasions, scratches, and uneven wax. One impressed spot at upper right, approximately 1" wide; and one area of wax loss at lower left, approximately 2" long - neither area is distracting or obvious and each blends well with intentional distress by artist. Additional scratches and abrasions to surface likely original to painting.
