- Lot Description
Wm. B. Durgin Co (American (Pennsylvania) 1880-1905). Five piece sterling silver coffee and tea service in the "Fairfax" pattern comprising a 2-3/4 pint coffee pot, 1-3/4 pint teapot, covered sugar bowl, cream pitcher and open waste bowl. Each piece monogrammed and hallmarked for Durgin, "STERLING". Approximate height of coffee pot 7", weight 17.64 troy ounces. Approximate height of teapot 4.5", weight 14.03 troy ounces. Approximate height of sugar 3.75", width 7.75" (handle to handle), weight 9.66 troy ounces. Approximate height of creamer 3.25", width 6.67"(handle to spout), weight 5.42 troy ounces. Approximate height of waste bowl 2.67", width 5.25", weight 6.65 troy ounces.
Condition
Wear commensurate with age and use. Dinging and denting overall, with some pitting, oxidation, and surface scratching. Minor tarnishing. Both handles are loose, one in particular. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
