Chinese, Qind Dynasty Yongzheng Period mark (1723-1735), circa late 19th/ early 20th century. A finely painted large porcelain jardiniere or planter of tapering bowl form with a shallow ogee curved neck and mouth, the body with colorful hand painted Doucai enamel landscape on tondo with a single phoenix perching on a rock formation and surrounded by flowering trees with enormous blossoms, the round foot with a band of alternating colored lappets and the short neck with a band of ruyi head scrolls adorned with bell flowers. Marked to underside with blue underglaze six character Yongzheng imperial reign archaic mark. Approximate height 9", diameter 15".
Overall in very good condition. No apparent breaks, chips, or repairs. Minor abrasions and scuffs to exterior commensurate with use, but none affecting the paint layer. Paint colors vibrant and decoration clear.
