Modern designer David Mellor (English,1930-2009) twenty-nine piece flatware set in "Chinese Ivory" pattern produced in Sheffield, England, circa 1975. Each piece forged out of flat strip stainless steel edged by machine and handles formed out of acetal resin in off-white ivory color. Set comprising of six dinner forks, six salad forks, six dinner knives (marked on blade "DAVID MELLOR SHEFFIELD ENGLAND"), six large spoons, and five small spoons. Approximate length of knife 8.5". Approximate length of small spoon 5.3". Note: Mellor's "Chinese Ivory" pattern was the 10th of his cutlery designs to be produced. The pattern won the Design Centre Award in 1977. Collections of this pattern of flatware are included in many public museum collections such as the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Minor surface scratches and wear to utensil and handles commensurate from age and use. No elements bent or missing. No chips or losses.
