Approximate height 3.25", diameter 4.6". Provenance: The Craftsmen Potters Association of Great Britain, London, whereby acquired by the Estate of Mr. Joseph Gilbert of Atlanta, Georgia on 10/21/94. Copy of purchase receipt available upon request. Note: David Leach was the elder son of Bernard Leach, arguably the most prominent of British studio potters and co-founder of the St. Ives Pottery (English, founded 1920) alongside noted potter Shoji Hamada (Japanese (active Great Britain), 1894-1978). David Leach apprenticed under his father and Hamada at the St. Ives Pottery, which he later went on to manage.
