David Bierk (Canadian, 1944-2002), "Kawartha Pond, Golden Cloud"-1996, oil on wood board, signed on verso of board and with two stamps, each reading "DAVID BIERK 408 1/2 GEORGE STREET N., PETERBOROUGH, ONTARIO, K9H 3R5 CANADA". Diptych landscape painting depicting a sunset view of Kawartha Pond in Ontario with dark green to blue clouds overhead above golden clouds on horizon line above water. Overall framed approximately 20.5" x 26.5". Painting at center unframed approximately 16" x 22".
Condition
Excellent condition overall. Under black light examination, little to no signs of retouches or in-painting. Little to no signs of craquelure. Paint layer stable without signs of lifting. Board stable without warping or cracking. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
