Daum (French (Nancy), founded 1878). An art glass vase of bottle form with Lily of the Valley blossoms on stalks cut in cameo in deep red over alabaster, the background in martele pattern, a texture similar to that of hammered metal, with organic field of cranberry red to neck flowing down onto bulbous body as well as to foot. Incised mark to underside "Daum Nancy" with the Cross of Lorraine. Approximate height 11.5". Provenance: Acquired from Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, Chicago, Illinois, "Fine Furniture and Decorative Arts" auction, May 4, 2010, lot 1212, whereby sold and acquired by the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Overall good condition. There is a factory flaw approximately 2" from the mouth and appears to be a crease or cut through the cameo however the glass is stable and surrounding glass shows know evidence of damage (see image #7). Surface scratches to the bottom as would be expected with age and contact with surface.
