Philippines, circa 1965. Custom built mahogany and black leather wrapped demilune form bar, to one end a hinged, removable lift up section allowing for full or closed access, the top edge of front padded with black leather over a incurvate streamlined case alternating between solid shaped panels and pierced honeycomb fretwork, the interior of the bar with two drawers, numerous open compartments, a pull out slide for cutting fruit, bottle rack and four locking cupboard doors, and to one end three stacked deep drawers, each with fitted cellarette. Height 43.75", width 108", depth 57.5". Provenance: This bar was custom designed and made in Manila, the Philliipines in 1965 for Mr/Mrs. Henry C. Smith of Akron, Ohio and Hilton Head Island, S.C. The bar was brought back to the states when they returned from overseas. The bar is entirely made of Phillipine mahogany, completely original and has never been refinished. The bar was designed to have a small bar sink installed in the center storage section. The hole in the shelf below was to accommodate plumbing. It was never done.
