French, early 20th century. Country French Provincial style fruitwood buffet having a rectangular top with rounded edges slightly projecting over the straight case with three frieze drawers having decorative raised scrolling panels, the central drawer with locking mechanism over a pair of paneled cupboard doors, also with locking mechanisms over a scroll carved apron raised on slightly scrolled front legs and back stiles. Approximate height 48.75", width 61.6", depth 20.12".
Structurally stable. With two working keys. Surface scratches, commensurate with use, present throughout. Tabletop with splitting, more prevalent on right than left. Tabletop lifting from base, more prevalent on right. Expanding of natural flaws in wood on face and drawers. Outermost two drawers with some splitting/separating, not particularly distracting. Warping to both upper interior shelves. Separating of backboards commensurate with shrinkage. Worming to all legs, more prevalent in back legs.
