- Lot Description
Continental School, Late 19th/Early 20th century. "Harvest", oil on canvas, signed lower right. Figural painting depicting a number of workers tending to hay bales with horses on cliff near water's edge in background marked with rolling hills, two of the horses attached to wagon with man and woman standing amid tall stack of hay as man on ground secures haul with rope, figures threshing hay in background on barren field, others rest in foreground including a charming interaction between playful dog and figure laying on ground on back with arms extended. Dramatic dark clouds overhead above golden afternoon scene. Framed approximately 31.125" x 37". Unframed approximately 22" x 27.75".
