Conant Ball (American (Gardner, MA), founded 1852-circa 1990), circa 1950s. A set of two mid-century modern walnut Windsor style side chairs and walnut drop leaf table, the chairs comprising of a chair back with 6 turned spindles over a trapezoidal seat upholstered in black and white tweed patterned vinyl, surmounting turned tapering conical splayed legs, the table with rectangular top and two rectangular drop leaves resting on six turned tapering conical splayed legs including four swinging legs. Approximate height of chairs 33" (at highest point), width (of crestrail) 21.5", depth 17", seat to floor 17". Approximate height of table 30.50", width (leaves folded down)18", width (leaves 42.25") depth 42" Note: Some have attributed the design of this set to Russel Wright (1904-1976), others have attributed the design to Leslie Diamond.
All pieces are structurally sound with edge wear, dirt, scuffs & scratches to wood. Table top has scattered staining, minor chipping and small white specks of paint. One chair with loose spindle and stile. Both seat covers on chairs are ripping, probably due to dry rot (see image #4).
