After Anthony van Dyck (Flemish, 1599-1641). A group of two paintings after the renowned Flemish portrait painter Anthony van Dyck (Flemish, 1599-1641), comprising "Portrait of Mary Hill, Lady Killigrew", oil on wood panel, apparently unsigned, with Latin inscription to lower margin "M. Ruten Uxor Antonii Van Dyck", waist-length portrait painting depicting a noble woman with rosary in hand, with wax seal remnant to verso (griffins, eagle heads); and "Portrait of the Artist", oil on wood panel, apparently unsigned, with Latin inscription to lower margin "D. Antonivs Van Dyck Eoues", bust-length portrait painting depicting Anthony van Dyck (Flemish, 1599-1641), with wax seal remnant to verso (griffins, eagle heads). Each framed approximately 14" x 11.5". Each unframed approximately 10.5" x 7.825".
Dust to surface. Paint surface stable. Scattered surface abrasions to margins commensurate with frame rubbing. Under black light examination in-painting detected to both; largely contained to the backgrounds immediately surrounding the figures. Dings to surface (Mary Hill). Area of abrasions to left center margin (Van Dyck).
