Royal Winton (English, founded 1885), circa 1939-1950. Group of eight pieces of chintz in “Julia” pattern (pattern number 109) with brightly colored floral transfer decoration on white bone china comprising of a shaped and handled tray holding lidded teapot, handled creamer, sugar dish, toast rack and teacup; a lidded dresser box of rectangular form with slightly domed fitted lid and a rectangular dish with rounded handles. Each marked on bottom with in green “ROYAL WINTON GRIMWADES MADE IN ENGLAND” with A in Art Deco circular manner (1930s-1940s mark), some with additional “JULIA” pattern mark in blue. Dresser box approximate height 2”, width 5”, depth 3.5”.
All items with light wear to gilt accents and transfer decoration, particularly on handles and edges. All items with crazing, however glazing stable without signs of lifting. Light wear to bottoms of all commensurate with age and light shelf use. Under black light examination, no signs of further damage, loss or repair.
