Continental School, 19th century. Group of three miniature portraits of men comprising of an oval portrait after Felix Philippoteaux (French, 1815-1854) of Napoleon Bonaparte as Lieutenant Colonel of the 1st Battalion of Corsica (currently housed in Versailles), signed as after the artist at right; a work of a French military officer with curled white hair wearing traditional uniform with gold tasseled epoulets; and a portrayal of a detail after Peter Lely's (Dutch, 1618-1680) "Portrait of Charles I with his second son James, Duke of York"-1647, depicting the young man with long hair, vest, and hand on sword in outdoor setting, monogrammed at right. After Lely work framed approximately 5.75" x 3.25", sight size approximately 3" x 2". Military officer work framed approximately 3.9" x 3.25", sight size approximately 3.25" x 2.6". After Philipoteaux work framed approximately 5.4" x 4.125", sight size approximately 3.8" x 2.6". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
