Continental, last quarter 20th century. Collection of two Isleham Church (English, founded 1090) gold rubbings on paper after the tomb of Thomas Peyton (English, 1418-1484), comprising "Sir Thomas Peyton", gold rubbing on black paper, with inscription to lower margin "Sir Thomas Peyton 1484 By Jean Heyman", gold rubbing on black paper, depicting Sir Thomas Peyton in full battle armor with hand clasped at his chest in prayer; and "Lady Margaret Peyton", gold rubbing on black paper, with inscription to lower margin "Lady Margaret Peyton 1484 By Jean Heyman", depicting Lady Margaret Peyton (English, 15th century), the wife of Thomas Peyton, with her hands shown lifted to her waist with open palms. Each framed approximately 23" x 10.925". Sight approximately 19.5" x 7.75".
