Circle of Baishi Qi (Chinese, 1864-1957). "Wisteria and Dragonflies", ink and pigment on paper, inscribed center left with black calligraphic marks above two red seal marks. Painting depicting a cascade of magenta wisteria hanging from vertical and horizontal bamboo stalks with a black dragonfly resting atop a bamboo shaft at upper right and one yellow and red dragonfly in flight at top left, with one line of black calligraphy upper left, the painting with a light blue silk surround and stained wood roller. Overall approximately 66" x 15.5".
Allover toning commensurate with age, the toning darker along edges of painting and silk surround. Creasing and roll marks throughout from handling. Area of possible ink transfer upper left, not distracting. Very minimal water damage present to right edge of silk surround, not interfering with painting. No apparent rips, tears, or losses.
