Chivley Chup (Cambodian/Alaskan, 20th century). Carved fossilized whale bone figural sculpture depicting a bundled Inuit figure with mitten covered hand and arm raised in long parka coat, opposite hand on stomach, figure with round carved face with short ridged hair and pleasant facial expression. Marked on bottom with "Chupak" and other illegible inscription. Overall approximate height 9.5", width 4.25", depth 2.25". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Benno & Babette Rothschild, Columbus, Georgia.
Light handling wear. A few lateral splits at back and on back left leg (not repaired but stable). No missing elements, further damage, loss or repair.
