American, 20th century. Chippendale style chinoiserie gold and black lacquer commode, the serpentine shaped top decorated with a scene of figures, wildlife and pagodas over a conforming case with single long frieze drawer and a pair of doors, all similarly decorated and flanked by sabre shaped supports carved with paterae and pendant husks in high relief and terminating in carved key pattern feet with turned, tapering toes carved with uprising foliage. Baker tag on back. Height 35.25", width 50", depth 26.5".
Overall very good condition. Structurally sound. Minimal wear to chinoiserie decorated surface on top. Drawer opens and shuts smoothly. Doors open & close evenly.
