- Lot Description
Chinese, Tang Dynasty (618-907). Polychrome terracotta pottery figural sculpture depicting a young woman with stylized hair pulled up on top of head, face with rounded cheeks and pleasant expression wearing a long pink dress with black accents, with arms bent holding a small bird gently at chest. Approximate height 10", width 2.6", depth 2.6".
Condition
Figure with wear and losses to polychrome throughout. Traces of dirt residue. Chip to woman's thumb (see images 5 & 7). Scattered minute chips to base, commensurate with age. Chips do not affect the stability of the item.
