Chinese, Qing Dynasty Qianlong Period Mark (1736-1795), likely 20th century. A famille rose decorated Longquan celadon small footed bowl with exterior celadon glaze decorated with hand painted enamels depicting two quail in a rocky landscape flanked by oversized pink peony flowers and two iron red bats, the rim being gilt, and the interior a lighter tone of celadon or clair-de-lune. Underside with six character underglaze cobalt blue Chien Lung imperial reign mark. Approximate height 3.375", diameter 7.25".
Rim with several small flakes and one significant chip. Wear on rim commensurate with age and handling. Scattered glazing flaws on interior of bowl. Showing light wear to hand painted surface. Base with wear commensurate with shelf use. Under black light examination, no additional fractures or losses.
