Chinese, Ming Dynasty Qianlong Period Mark (1735-1796), likely 20th century. A porcelain charger or large low bowl with cobalt decoration to white ground depicting a serpentine five clawed dragon at center surrounded by cloud scrolls, and two five clawed dragons walking around rim and surrounded by cloud scrolls, with similar decoration to exterior rim. Marked to underside with cobalt underglaze Qianlong imperial reign mark. Approximately 15" diameter, 2.375" tall.
Color is bright & vivid. Metal hanging device is affixed to charger, possibly with glue--we did not remove this for fear of compromising the integrity of the piece. Glazing imperfections to underside (see image 8).
