Chinese, Qing Dynasty Kangxi Period mark (1661-1722), 19th century possibly earlier. A tall squared baluster form vase with four planar sides to body surmounted by cylindrical neck and flared round mouth and having cobalt blue underglaze hand painted decoration, the body decorated to opposing sides with landscape vignettes depicting figures in boats and on land surrounded by rocky formations and trees, the remaining two opposing body sides each with seven lines of calligraphic marks, likely a poem in running script, with painted seal mark below final line of characters, the vase shoulder and neck with floral medallions. Marked to underside with a Artemisia leaf mark of the Kangxi period. Paper label to one side of body "Big Daddy's Antiques, Los Angeles, Aspen, San Francisco". Approximately 22.25" tall, 6.5" square.
Scattered glazing imperfections throughout. Edges with losses to glaze revealing dark clay below, scattered throughout and visible--overall approximately 25 areas. Wear to bottom commensurate with age and light shelf use. Scattered scratches to surface, not particularly noticeable or distracting. Vase with light dirt and grime and would likely benefit from light professional cleaning. No signs of cracks or repairs.
