Chinese, late 19th/ early 20th century, likely Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). A carved hardwood pedestal, jardiniere or plant table having an octagonal marble inset top within a conforming border and beaded trim above a reticulated frieze of blossoming prunus branches raised on four foliate carved supports united by a circular undertier with gadrooned border and the apron with openwork florals motif, the cabriole legs similarly detailed and headed with dragons terminating on claw and ball feet, joined by a floral pierced stretcher. Approximate height 34", diameter of top 19.25".
Structurally sound. Overall very good condition. Minor gapping between marble and surround. A couple of minute chips to beaded trim. Traces of old glue in seams to the underside probably for strengthening carved pierced elements.
