Chinese, Qing Dynasty Kangxi Period (1661-1722). A porcelain bud vase of baluster form with sang de bouef glaze, the vase with narrow neck and flaring rim over bulbous shoulder and elegantly tapering body with unusual elongated and hollow round foot, the mottled red glaze thinning at neck and along body to reveal olive green tone. Marked to interior of hollow foot with hand painted cobalt underglaze Kangxi Imperial reign mark. Approximately 6.125" tall, 1.75" diameter at shoulder.
Chip on rim running to top of neck. Break to neck in jagged patterning running the full diameter of neck with earlier repairs. Hairline fracture running down side of vase approximately halfway down with losses at end. Wear to bottom commensurate with age and shelf use. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
