- Lot Description
Chinese, late 19th/early 20th century. Famille verte porcelain fishbowl of standard form with flattened rim at top with diaper patterned border with peach and iron red flowers, interior with five large scaled fish in iron red amid stylized aquatic plants against white ground, exterior with diaper patterned and lappet borders surrounding warriors in outdoor setting. Large calligraphic black mark on bottom. Vessel supported on a wooden stand. Fishbowl approximate height 10", diameter of top 12".
Condition
Overall very good condition. Couple small surface chips with enamel loss; stable. Some glazing imperfections. Scattered areas of enamel loss (see image #8). Glazing pops/firing holes visible in the interior. Wear to base commensurate with age and with contact to surface (see image #9).
