Chinese, Early 20th century. Famille verte porcelain fishbowl of standard form with red to pink flowers on rim with leaves amid cloud scrolls in grey and green on yellow ground, exterior with borders depicting flowers and leaves on black ground, diaper patterned diamond motif, and scrolling above central scene with birds, butterflies and dragonflies flying in gilt sky above watery expanse with lotus flowers, blossoms and leaves above a lappet border. Unmarked. Overall approximate height 14.3”, diameter at top 16.1”.
Y shaped crack to side wall visible to interior with naked eye, with repairs visible to interior and exterior under black light examination. Overall with residue and grime to surface, and with minor chips to foot and rim commensurate with age and use. Enamels rich in color with no apparent fading or losses.
