Chinese, Late 19th/Early 20th century. Chinese export famille rose porcelain teapot decorated with hand painted enamels of courtly figures on outdoor architectural porch with views of boats in water and cliffs in background. White glazed tree branch handle and curved spout with similar motif. Round lid with domed top with gilt accented finial above medallions with flowers and perched birds in amid flowering branches. Unmarked. Approximate height 5.5", width (handle to spout) 8".
The lid has 1 hole that appears to be intentional and made before firing/glazing (see image #3). Chip to rim of lid. Spout has a chip to rim and chip to the underside. There is slight wear and flaking to foot commensurate with age. Enamel work is still very bright with no apparent loss.
