Chinese, circa 1770. Chinese Export porcelain teapoy or tea caddy painted in Mandarin palette, baluster form with conforming domed lid and ball finial decorated with scenic rocky waterscape and boats in famille rose, the body decorated with figural reserve panels on white ground interspersed by panels of scenic landscape and foliage, the foot with a band of open work stylized waves around the base, apparently unmarked. Approximate height 5.12". Provenance: From the Estate of Henry G. Muecke Jr., Atlanta, Georgia.
A few scattered glazing imperfections throughout. Minor hairline on circular foot on bottom, minor nicks and chips to foot. Light wear to bottom commensurate with age and shelf use. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
